The Lord's Supper

We celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion Service) every Sunday evening, except the second Sunday in the month when we celebrate this ordinance in the morning. We welcome visitors who have been baptised as believers, who are living an orderly life and are established in their local church, to share in this with us.

Church Fellowship

True, spiritual fellowship is a vital element of local church life. In order to create a good opportunity for such fellowship to flourish, we hold a fellowship lunch following the morning service on the second Sunday of the month. This is an excellent occasion and we are always delighted to welcome visitors.

Our church has never been part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain. It is a Reformed Baptist Church and is committed to the doctrines expressed by the Baptist, 1689 London Confession of Faith. While we enjoy fellowship with many like-minded churches around the country, we are an independent church, believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the true Head of the church. Membership is for those who have a credible testimony of the saving grace of God in their lives, have been baptised by immersion following their conversion and are prepared to commit themselves to the teaching ministry, the fellowship and the life of the church.

We are a small church (about 30 members) surrounded by the vast multi-racial community within the London Borough of Newham.

There is very warm fellowship among the members and a great appetite for the word of God. Also, the membership comprises Christians of all ages from young teenagers to those well past retirement age. It also comprises believers from various ethnic and national backgrounds.

We believe that the local church should be a microcosm of the ultimate, universal Church of Jesus Christ and therefore should be multiracial where it is located in a multiracial community. We are seeking to bring the gospel to all members of the community as the Lord is pleased to grant us opportunities and resources.
