Publications

Part of the ministry at Hope Baptist Church involves the production of various short publications, particularly for the benefit of church members. We would, however, like to make them available to anyone who might profit from them.

The following are available for immediate and free download as Adobe (pdf) files. If you would prefer to receive them in booklet form that can be supplied at minimal cost. Please e-mail for details.

This booklet outlines the reasons why Christians should be members of their local, Bible-believing, gospel-preaching local churches. It then describes the commitments that the believer accepts when he or she joins the local church.

Many churches have suffered great confusion over the past 50 years because of teaching that has insisted that there are still Apostles and Prophets among the people of God. This booklet demonstrates that the Old Testament prophetic ministry was brought to its conclusion by the ultimate prophet, the Lord Jesus Christ. It also explains why there can be no continuation of the ministry of the Apostles.

This booklet was written during 2005. It presents the Reformed Baptist position on inter-church fellowship and cooperation, and proceeds to question the aims and objectives of the body that has replaced the British Evangelical Council, namely, Affinity.

The local church is called to be a worshipping community of believers. In a world of utter and terrible rebellion against God, where the Lord Jesus Christ is still despised and rejected, each local church is called to show forth the praises of him who called his people out of darkness into his marvellous light. This booklet examines this high calling and explains how the churches are to fulfil this glorious obligation.
